UCEL workshops

The presenters:

Dawn Leeder is Director and Founder of Universities' Collaboration in eLearning (UCEL). Her background is in media industry including music production and recording, television, radio, advertising and PR. She is an experienced interactive multimedia developer and has authored numerous papers on e-learning and web-based education.
Heather Wharrad is Senior Lecturer in Education and Health Informatics at the School of Nursing, University of Nottingham and a founder member of UCEL. With a background in Physiology research she teaches biological sciences, research methods and IT. She led a team that developed a series of CAL packages on cell biology for nursing and medical students. Her current research interests include the role of technology in nurse education.
Howard Chase is Professor of Biochemical Engineering and Head of Department of Chemical Engineering at Cambridge. He has a long-standing interest in the pedagogical aspects of e-learning and has developed UCeL RLOs in statistics.
Paul Garrud is Associate Dean of Medical Education at the University of Nottingham where he has been instrumental in developing the innovative graduate entry medical course. He has a long history of engagement with interactive multimedia and has published several CD-ROMs in health education. He is a founder member of UCeL.
Originally a biologist, Paul Russell's main areas of research were microscopy, histology and image analysis. Having completed formal training in HE learning and teaching he is currently lead multimedia and computer-assisted learning officer at Peninsula Medical School.
with visualiser/artist Jonathan Page. Jon is a successful fine artist, designer and prop-maker and also an experienced art teacher. He has worked as a prop-maker for Glyndebourne and the English National Opera, and later for theatre, TV and films including Life of Brian and Death on the Nile. Currently a visiting fine art lecturer, he regularly exhibits and his works feature in many private collections.
