RLO:
Stigma attached to STIs and condom use in the UK
How
can STIs be prevented?
There are two obvious ways in which this is possible. Firstly, complete
abstinence from sexual behaviour and secondly to use a condom.
For most people, the first option is unrealistic. But obtaining
and using condoms is also associated with stigma. If the stigma surrounding
the use of condoms can be reduced, this should result in increased
usage, and so reduce the prevalence of STIs.
